We are currently training in a park 5 mins walk from the centre. We have a risk assessment and Covid protocols in place in line with Boxing England recommendations. If you would like a copy of our risk assessment please contact us via the contact page.
Currently the only way to join is through attending one of our monthly introductory sessions, these are advertised on our Facebook page and Eventbrite. If you have trained with us before but haven’t been for a while and would like to return to training, please get in touch and we can let you know if we have spaces available.
Due to Covid there are no changing facilities at the centre, so please arrive changed and ready to train with your own gloves. All training is socially distanced unless from there same household. Sanitiser and anti-viral spray will be available. Please wash your hands thoroughly before and after class and do not share kit. Please make sure you arrive promptly 5 – 10 mins before the advertised start time of sessions in order to get ready and warm up.
Regular sessions
Boxing: Tuesdays 7.00 – 8.30pm
We also run seminar in other disciplines and self-defence, so keep an eye on our social media for updates.
What to expect:
We start sessions with a warm-up, so make sure you’re on time for that to make sure you avoid injury. We then typically do some technical work, some drills, padwork or partner work, before moving on to sparring and fitness circuits.
Introductory sessions
The intro sessions are back on, keep an eye on our Facebook page for details. All sessions will follow Boxing England Covid guidelines.
What to expect:
Some paperwork (!) and the basics of the sport. This will include how to stand, how to move, how to throw a punch, how to kick (if relevant), and how to defend yourself.
What to bring:
Bring some water and make sure you wear appropriate clothing (something comfortable that you can move in, a sports bra if necessary), and appropriate footwear for boxing sessions – trainers or boxing boots are fine.
Oh, and bring your mates!
